Last night, Jeffrey Epstein’s purported “suicide” note was ordered to be released by a federal Judge after the New York Times petitioned the court to release them (the Times reported it could not authenticate that the note was actually written by Epstein).

According to Epstein’s former cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione, an ex-cop convicted of a quadruple murder, he found the note on July 23rd, 2019—weeks before Epstein’s death—inside a graphic novel in their cell following another supposed “suicide” attempt by Epstein (Epstein was found motionless on his cell floor; he told his attorneys his cellmate had tried to kill him).
The note is written, frankly, in the voice and tone of a braggadocios teenager. Here are some parts of it:
“They investigated me for month – found NOTHING!!!
“It is a treat to be able to chose ones time to say goodbye.”
“NO FUN – NOT WORTH IT!!
Putting aside what one already believes about Epstein’s death—if you think he indeed died by suicide or was murdered—objectively speaking, the exuberance displayed in this note is not reflected in thousands of other emails authored by the disgraced sex trafficker and released as part of the Epstein Files.
The timing is also suspect: in late July 2019—when Tartiglione claims he found the note inside his shared cell with Epstein—Epstein’s attorneys had entered preliminary talks with prosecutors about Epstein potentially cooperating in exchange for a lighter sentence.
From an FBI note:
“On July 29, 2019, FBI and SDNY met with Epstein’s attorneys, who, in very general terms, discussed the possibility of a resolution of the case, and the possibility of the defendant’s cooperation.”
Common sense question: why would a billionaire with the best lawyers money can buy try to off himself at the same time he’s trying to cooperate with prosecutors to get a lighter punishment?
Then there’s all the other red flags:
Renowned forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden observed Epstein’s autopsy and says in his 50 year career, he has never seen 3 neck fractures caused by suicide. Baden holds firm 6 years later that Epstein died from homicidal strangulation. READ my interview with him.
The medical examiner who conducted the autopsy on Epstein did not take a DNA sample of the alleged noose Epstein used to hang himself (to check for someone else’s DNA; i.e. potential homicide). She handed the noose to the FBI—whom we do not know if they conducted DNA sampling.
Infamously, there was several missing minutes of the prison security cameras near Epstein’s cell hours before he was found murdered.
Two guards tasked with watching Epstein supposedly fells asleep hours before his death.
A press release announcing Epstein’s death was crafted the day before his death on August 9th, 2019. That initial draft did not have a cause of death specified; the actual press release that went out on August 10th stated Epstein died of an “apparent suicide.”
An inmate in Epstein’s cell told the FBI he overheard prison guards standing over Epstein’s dead body plotting to cover up his murder.
