Mangione did a favour for a society more than that Kirk fellow ever did.

Very thoughtful and well written, Jordan. There is still a lot of murky stuff about the Kirk murder. The video of the alleged shooter jumping down off of the roof, for example. He had something in his hand (clothes?), but it was not big enough to be the alleged rifle unless it was dismantled BUT the rifle that was reported to be found wrapped in a blanket was ASSEMBLED. So why would he take time to re-assemble a dismantled rifle before wrapping it in a blanket and leaving it in a field/woods? Why not just toss it and get on with his escape? That makes no reasonable sense. So far, I have not heard anything about who actually owned that rifle, registration etc. Weirdness, eh?

Motive? Opportunity? Who benefits? These are the questions in a murder case. The opportunity is obvious but the other two questions are murky as hell. Ask Sirhan or Lee Harvey Oswald.

At this point it's not even clear that Robinson is the shooter, let alone what his political views are or, if he's the killer, what his motives are. There's no video of him with the gun, no evidence that the shot came from the building he appears to have been on top of, no evidence such as powder residue that he had fired a gun, nada. It appears he may have been a patsy, like the elderly man who was initially arrested who successfully distracted the police from whoever the real killer was. The only way the wound in Kirk's neck could have been an entrance wound is if the bullet (where is it, by the way?) ricocheted upward off of body armor.
