In one of worst television “news” interviews I’ve ever seen, Amazon founder and the world’s fourth richest man, Jeff Bezos, might have won the world record for lying rich assholes spewing bullshit and lies.

Let’s break it down.
Lie #1: Bezos says that he pays “billions of dollars in taxes”
Cowboy Bezos had the gall to tell CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin—who dutifully didn't challenge his lies—that he pays billions in taxes to the federal government. Of course, this is a brazen lie. As ProPublica reported, Bezos has actually paid ZERO income taxes for several years, including in 2007 and 2011.
And between 2014 and 2018, Bezos paid less than 1 percent of his wealth in taxes: $973 million as his wealth ballooned by $99 billion.
Infuriatingly, the “news” anchor interviewing him did not push back with any of these easily searchable facts.
Lie #2: Bezos says you can double his taxes and it won’t help a teacher making $75,000 annually
Bezos claimed that if you doubled his taxes, it would not help a teacher in Queens making $75,000 annually.
Of course, this is a lie; by doubling the taxes Bezos and other oligarchs with properties in New York City—Cowboy Jeff owns a penthouse worth a cool $100 million in the Big Apple—the increased incoming revenue could potentially help provide that working class New York City teacher with things like free to low-cost childcare, free to low-cost healthcare, affordable housing, cheaper transportation (free buses), newer roads, and more.

Lie #3: Rents are high because of “government intervention”
Bezos poo pooed rents being astronomically high, absurdly claiming rents are skyrocketing because of “big government.”
He’s actually right; if by “big government” he means CORRUPT politicians who have sold the government to real estate developers—who shower politicians with donations in exchange for the politicians giving them free money (government subsidies) and not regulating them so they can illegally price gouge renters!

Lie #4: Bezos claims we need to reduce corporate welfare!
In the biggest whopper of them all, Corporate Welfare King Jeff Bezos said—with a straight face—said “we have way too much corporate welfare, way too much corporate subsidies, there’s way too much influence in politics from business and some cases wealthy people.”
WOW! You’re right Jeff…so are you going to return the the $15 BILLION IN GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES Amazon has received since the year 2000?
And of course, the CNBC “news” anchor didn’t challenge Bezos with these easily Google-able facts.
