We've Got BIG Reporting Plans for Summer—But We Need You TODAY

We're just 19 paid members away from reaching our May membership goal of 125 additional member sign ups. Can you help us get there by month's end?

Hey folks, it’s Jordan. In May, we’ve been on the road reporting in East Palestine Ohio, Flint and Kalamazoo Michigan and broke important stories on all three important stories of environmental calamity corruption. Below are just a few:

For the month, we launched an ambitious goal. Adding 100 paid members to help support our ongoing ON-THE-GROUND reporting. Thanks to our awesome viewers, we blew past that a week ago! The accomplishment was much-needed considering we just took on a hefty expense—a second LIVEU device that will allow us to go live on-the-ground from more than one location at a time. Yes, that means Jordan can be live covering a story somewhere in America while Louis or Tina are also on-the-ground able to go live somewhere else. This ability to cover more ground, and more stories, is something we’ve wanted for a long time—but it didn’t come cheap. The new LIVEU cost us over $15,000 (not to mention the monthly costs associated with it).

So, after we passed the 100 paid member goal for May with a week left in the month, we decided why not increase the goal to 125? And with 5 days left, we’re 19 paid members away from hitting that goal!

It might not seem like much, but every new paid member at $5 a month, or $10 a month, or $20 a month makes a BIG difference for us. Stable, consistent revenue coming in monthly helps us be able to consistently report ON-THE-GROUND while also paying freelancers to report and cover events we can’t get to. As of now, if we continue growing our paid membership at a steady rate, we’re hoping to report on-the-ground this summer from:

• Atlanta GA to continue covering the protests and fight to Stop the militarized police “Cop City.”

• East Palestine OH to continue covering the train derailment and open detonation disaster.

• Kalamazoo Michigan to continue to covering the toxic paper mill poisoning poor Black residents.

• Potentially some 2024 campaign coverage along with whatever other stories break along the way

So here comes the ask: if INDEPENDENT ON-THE-GROUND reporting is important and necessary to you, will you sign up at $5 bucks a month (16 cents a day) or $10 bucks a month (33 cents a day) to help us reach our May goal and fund our summer reporting plans?
