As someone who receives medications through Optum - at Walgreens, no less - this tragic story has an ominous familiarity. Never has the corporate biases of mainstream 'news' been more glaringly apparent. The once good news site Common Dreams just published an article pillorying Michael Zuckerberg for plans to dispense with third party 'fact checking' of commentary for 'accuracy.' Uncritically repeating criticism of the social media mogul for 'kissing Trump's ring', whilst removing 'safe-guards' against 'misinformation', isn't journalism. Zuckerberg is, of course, a corporate weasel. But, that's beside the point here. Censorship and obfuscation of information that reflects and benefits the general public is the primary agenda of corporate media.
