It's easy to condemn this statement. It's harder to understand why this gentleman said it. He speaks his truth. It's up to us to uncover why he and the rest of MAGA world believe it.
Nascent corporations use the American working class for growth. When profits proliferate these same corporations fire workers, close factories, and open up overseas to maximize to profits using slave labor and indentured servitude.
For instance, at Tesla Shanghai, workers work 6 days a week 11 1/2 hours a day. Foxconn is famous for their suicide nets to prevent desperate workers from killing themselves. 90% of shrimp in the U.S. is from Thailand and Burma, farmed with forced labor and child labor. Most people spend a lifetime honing one skill. Just one of Hillary Clinton's ignorant speeches was when she told coal miners in West Virginia she was going to shut down mines, move to green energy, and that miners could get retrained.
With the gutting of the American working class, the federal government relies on our military contractors to generate revenue. Congress gives the Pentagon trillions of dollars and in turn, politicians profit off of military contractor lobbyists. Bombs are good business. Death = Profits.
It does not matter whether or politicians or our corporate elites are red or blue. They are both different wings of the same vulture. Capitalism has, as its feature, the oppression of the working class for the enrichment of elites.
MAGA is gaslit into thinking that Trump will be a benevolent dictator. Likewise, El Salvador's President, Nayib Bukele, is heralded by many as a benevolent dictator though he discarded El Salvador's Constitution under the ruse of "emergency powers." Bukele strong armed cleaning up crime, a tactic many American citizens, no matter their political persuasion, valorize. It does not matter that innocents are imprisoned. Bukele, however, has not invested in infrastructure, such as schools and hospitals, that will benefit El Salvador's citizens. In this regard, he's no different than Trump or Biden.
The economy is not working for most Americans. 10% of Americans own 90% of the stock. The Dow Jones Industrial Average reflects the well being of elites while most Americans work paycheck to paycheck. Many Americans are desperate. The working class can't pay the damn rent and yet Jerome Powell freely turns on the money printer for corporations and the military industrial complex. Recently, MSNBC and CNN pontificated how Joe Biden is "investing" in American jobs with a subsidy of $3 billion for Microsoft, a company worth $3 trillion. While the elite media tries to gaslight the American people that government is working for them, the working class sees through the nepotism and is outraged. It does not matter. The oligarchy rules over us. The oligarchy laughingly mocks our anger over the price of a Big Mac.
To be hawkish, the consolidation of power by corporations and the military industrial complex will only get worse, not better. Congress passes legislation that benefits themselves and their corporate donors. It's no wonder many Americans yearn for a dictator. The system does not work for them. We work for the system. The oligarchy pits us against one another for their own benefit. The more we fight with each other, the more profits they make.
“I can hire one half of the working class to kill the other half.” - Jay Gould, 1891
On Trump being a dictator:
