We've gained 200,000 subscribers in six months (and 100,000 over the last 2 months). With this growth, we're close to hiring a second full-time reporter

Exciting momentum here at Status Coup as we just passed 400,000 YouTube subscribers last week—a gain of 200,000 subscribers over the last six months (and a gain of 100,000 subscribers over the last two months). See below:

Over that time, we’ve also gained about 1,000 new PAID Status Coup members—the lifeblood of our INDEPENDENT network that helps us fund our ON-THE-GROUND reporting.

On Friday, I was ON-THE-GROUND covering a rally in support of healthcare reform/Luigi Mangione; recently, our Tina-Desiree Berg reported ON-THE-GROUND covering the massive lithium battery fire in Northern California…and I’m working on putting together my next ON-THE-GROUND reporting trip (stay tuned for details).

With this momentum, we are getting closer to being able to budget enough to hire a new full-time reporter. As the only full-time reporter at Status Coup—routinely juggling 5-6 stories at a time and working 6-7 days a week at a clip of 12-13 hours a day—I will be direct…

I NEED HELP!

A new reporter will help us EXPAND our ON-THE-GROUND reporting, INCREASE the amount of news we break, INCREASE the amount of content we produce, and give me more time to INVESTIGATE stories and break more news.

Not only do we need help OVERALL, but also in the near short term. In a few months, I will be taking some time off to work on a new project (stay tuned for details!). My hope is that during this time, we would have already reached our fundraising goal and have our new reporter in place to keep Status Coup kicking ass until I return.
