Status Coup BREAKING NEWS in East Palestine Ohio While Corporate Media Toes the Line
"What’s it going to take? Is one of my children going to have to drop dead?" -- East Palestine resident Candice DeSanzo tells Status Coup reporter Louis DeAngelis
Candice DeSanzo, an East Palestine resident and mother of 5 sons—who have been experiencing rashes, sore throat, diarrhea, nosebleeds, and coughing since the Norfolk Southern train explosion two weeks ago—told Status Coup that her family had to take decontamination showers to be seen by local doctors. She’s furious over the lack of federal, and state, healthcare response and resources, as she and others continue to experience alarming health problems.
“Almost after three weeks [hospitals] are still waiting on guidance from the Ohio Department of Health. What’s it going to take? Is one of my children going to have to drop dead?”
Status Coup has talked to DOZENS of East Palestine residents in our three days on the ground. While most of the national news media have packed up their bags and left—or are uncritically decrying East Palestine safe based on what the EPA says, residents are reporting illnesses, lack of information, lack of resources, homes that smell like gas stations, and frustration with scant to non-existent institutional resources.
During Donald Trump’s visit today, Status Coup reporter Louis DeAngelis spoke to a nearby resident who is concerned about the lack of testing in nearby areas that could be impacted by chemicals burned by Norfolk Southern.
“They need to realize, they are not just impacting us today and tomorrow, they are affecting our livelihood and our future,” says a local farmer that’s worried about the contamination in local well water, and its impacts on her and other farmers’ incomes.
"We're all old hillbillies around here. We grow our own stuff and we eat off that. Now, what's going to happen,” asks another resident awaiting the former President’s visit.
When multi-billion dollar corporations and government entities are involved, journalists need to SEEK OUT THE TRUTH and hear the stories of impacted communities—not peddle PR for elite institutions.
While Obama was drinking a supposedly “clean glass of water” in Flint and the corporate media moved on, Status Coup repeatedly went back to Flint Michigan, for the last five years, each time uncovering something that wasn’t being reported by the corporate media—and that supposed journalists were falsely declaring Flint’s water safe and the crisis over. Sound familiar?
We are going to stay ON TOP of breaking news out of East Palestine and uncover what the mainstream media COVERS UP. It takes A LOT of resources to send a reporter and photojournalists on location.

Just yesterday, Status Coup EXPOSED Ohio Governor Mike DeWine as he lied to us ON CAMERA about his failure to request federal assistance in the early days of the massive ecological and humanitarian disaster following the Norfolk Southern train derailment and chemical explosion.
“I didn’t say that,” Ohio Governor Mike DeWine denies that he didn’t ask President Biden for FEMA assistance in the first week of the disaster.
We also reported that the health clinic set up by the Ohio Department of Health, touted by DeWine during his interview with Status Coup, doesn’t even diagnose patients or provide blood testing, urine testing, or testing of vitals.

I listened to your report from the trump appearance. 30 min in and NO ONE has mentioned DIOXIN.
When the first lady was interviewed, she said, "People are pressuring us to leave. But we're going to stay and rebuild". And your reporter said, "yes you should".
WHAT!? CLEARLY you do not understand the toxicity of Dioxin and the extreme threat to living things.
This is an EPIC CATASTROPHE and the People of E Palestine and nearby MUST EVACUATE and never return!!! This is an UNMITIGATABLE disaster!!
