ON-THE-ROAD Again...
We're headed to western North Carolina to cover another story abandoned by mainstream media: displaced Hurricane Helene victims being forced out of temporary housing amidst frigid winter weather
Hey folks, it’s Jordan.
We’re headed back ON-THE-GROUND this weekend as independent journalist Jason Peters and our videojournalist Jon Farina head down to Asheville, North Carolina and the surrounding parts of western North Carolina to cover a super important story that, unsurprisingly, has been forgotten by mainstream media…
The ONGOING disaster and aftermath of Hurricane Helene which, as we speak, includes displaced Hurricane victims being kicked out of their FEMA-funded temporary hotels and housing—with nowhere to go amidst frigid winter cold and a snowstorm.
“I’m still waiting on an inspection [for my home] through FEMA; I called them yesterday as a matter of fact and she said yes you have an inspection due, don’t know when they are going to contact you, however your hotel voucher ends on Friday and you have to be out by Saturday. I’m just one of many very people in this hotel that is going to be homeless; I can’t imagine being homeless, especially with this storm coming on.”
Here’s another:
"I'm actually talking to several people that are losing the FEMA vouchers," Ryan McClymonds, founder of volunteer group Operation Boots on the Ground in WNC and Eastern Tennessee, told Fox News Digital on Friday. "They're terrified that they're going to have nowhere to stay for their families after today. But we did find out last night pretty late … that FEMA is extending it a whole whopping 24 hours."
***For the record, FEMA failed to answer nearly half of the calls for aid it received related to Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. In September, 100 Republicans voted against a budget bill that included an additional $20 billion for FEMA.***
Jason and Jon will be covering the ongoing disaster, covering volunteer efforts to help displaced Hurricane victims find temporary housing; they will also seek to speak with displaced families being removed from temporary FEMA housing (yes, this all is happening in the wealthiest country on earth while our government showers other countries with billions of dollars).
This ON-THE-GROUND reporting—particularly when the rest of the mainstream media cameras have left—is critically important. We can’t allow the continuing normalization of Americans being left to fend for themselves by a corrupt and incompetent government. We will be going LIVE from North Carolina showing you what’s really happening ON-THE-GROUND and will also be recording interviews that we’ll release this week.
