✨🇺🇸 Democracy Thrives When Communities Unite
In a land we all know, though a bit topsy-turvy,
Three leaders stood shouting—Trump, Rubio, and Musk-y.
“Let’s leave NATO now! Send your dollars our way!”
To private-run buddies who profit each day.
They shrugged at our soldiers, our friends, and allies,
Ignored those who fought ‘neath democracy’s skies.
They scoffed at the treaties we promised to keep,
While sowing division both dangerous and deep.
They forgot WWII, Afghan vets, and our kin,
As they chased personal profits and let the greed win.
They sneered at the service of those who stood tall,
And shattered the promises made to us all.
They stirred up our neighbors with spiteful divides,
With words sharp as daggers, and hate on all sides.
They cheered when our fellow Americans fought,
And pushed the conspiracies grifters had taught.
They spoon-fed the nation a diet of lies,
To pull the thick wool over everyday eyes.
They want us distracted, they want us to fear,
So their corporate handouts can stay in the clear.
But we seniors remember what government meant—
A promise to help every life Heaven-sent.
A pact that we make to look out for our own,
So no one is left in the shadows alone.
Back in 1935, under Roosevelt’s hand,
Social Security lifted this beautiful land.
It offered a safety net woven with care,
To conquer the poverty, want, and despair.
It sheltered the elders, the children in need,
And helped everyday families survive, grow, and lead.
It proved that a nation is strongest and best,
When it cares for the ones who are put to the test.
So when they say “old rules,” return to the past,
They’re aiming to shatter protections that last.
They want to strip back the good progress we've made,
And leave the most vulnerable left in the shade.
Returning America to pre-1935 view,
Means “You’re on your own” for both me and for you.
No safety, no shelter, no help when we fall,
Just profits for billionaires taking it all.
But we—yes, we grandparents—step into the light,
With truth in our pockets and facts shining bright.
We gather the evidence, clear and precise,
To cut through their anger and fact-check their vice.
We’ll remind every household what fairness once meant,
What love for our neighbors and freedom once sent.
We’ll light up the comment boards, steady and calm,
And offer our facts like a comforting balm.
So gather your families, your children full-grown—
Keep courage, stay steady, don’t walk this alone.
For democracy thrives when our voices unite,
And we pass down the truth with our hearts burning bright.
