While covering a Cornel West presidential campaign rally in Harlem, NY, Jordan interviewed American political scientist and academic Norman Finkelstein about the recent announcement by the International Criminal Court to seek an arrest warrant for leaders of Hamas as well as Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
“To be a little bit sober about this, the record of the ICC is so horrendous a very senior international expert…he once said to me the ICC is not a court, it used to be called, not the International Criminal Court but the International Caucasian Court because it only indicted African leaders,” Finkelstein told Jordan. “The record of the ICC is absolutely horrendous; if you ask me why Karim Khan, the chief prosecutor, why he issued this statement…I would say the pressure became probably unbearable because every international agency was saying that, not only was their famine [in Gaza], but it’s a man-made famine…a manufactured famine [by Israel]. The only result of a manufactured famine can be mega deaths.”

While I have heard criticisms of Norman style of delivery, I find it a pleasure to listen to him. His very deliberative, clearly enuciated, and well-choosen words and phrases, for me, there is a certain unorthodox, melodic quality to his presentations. Is it because I am 72 years old? Maybe, not important for me to untangle. Finally, the quality and depth of his analyses is - for me - are the most salient aspects from his adult life's hard work.
