Status Coup is the scrappy, guerrilla journalists delivering ON-THE-GROUND justice journalism in a country suffocating in propaganda, infotainment, and tribal bullshit delivered to your TV, computers, and phones. WE NEED MORE SUPPORT to stay ON-THE-GROUND. SUPPORT for as low as $5/month. You can also DONATE to our cause.
Status Coup is LIVE and ON THE GROUND in Trenton, New Jersey, where residents are demanding answers about Delaney Hall, a privately operated ICE prison run by GEO Group.
Reporter Jordan Chariton and photojournalist Jon Farina are outside the State House Annex as organizers demand that Gov. Mikie Sherrill release the findings of a full health inspection, investigate the prison’s medical care, meet with detainees, free medically vulnerable people, and lay out a plan to SHUT DOWN Delaney Hall.
Livestream will begin at 12:30 p.m. Monday.
The coalition of residents says they have repeatedly asked to meet with the governor — and received no response. Now they’re bringing their demands directly to the State House.
For months this year, Status Coup reported extensively from the ground on protests outside of New Jersey’s Delaney Hall. Please SUPPORT Status Coup’s investigative and on-the-ground reporting for as low as $5 a month.
