Here’s What Corporate Media Didn’t Tell You About This
Status Coup reporter JT Cestkowski is LIVE in Madison, WI after protests have broken out across the state in response to the officer-involved shooting death of Corey Ruiz. JT will cover a candlelight vigil at 5 p.m. CT/6 p.m. ET and talk to residents about their thoughts on the latest police brutality insanity.
Ruiz was shot and killed after being detained by Madison Police Department Officers, who say he injured one of the arresting officers with “a fix-blade knife” and resisted arrest before being shot, according to a Madison Police Department Facebook post from July 22. The post goes on to say that officers attempted to use a taser on Ruiz first, “but it was unsuccessful.” The officers are now on administrative leave. The investigation remains active.
Various bystander cellphone video later posted to social media shows officers tussling with Ruiz, and later in footage, three gunshots are heard.
During a Thursday press conference, the Madison police chief confirmed that the shooting investigation is now “an open and active murder investigation.”
Madison police officers were not wearing body-worn cameras at the time of the shooting, as they are not issued to them; both the police chief and mayor said a pending city budget includes the funds for a body-worn camera program in the future.

These ICE thugs—without warrants, without trials, and in obvious violation of the Constitution and laws of the USA—have attacked, maimed, kidnapped, incarcerated, and/or deported hundreds of American citizens. They have also murdered both citizens and non-citizens—including Baby Kohen Riley.
ICE Bounty Hunters—encouraged by their treasonous supervisors—routinely employ violence to fill their racist quota of brown-skin-prey. And sometimes, because they know Trump has their backs, they murder—reminding Americans that in a Racist-Trump-Kleptocracy, Republican Fascists believe they are above the law.
Two of every three Americans recognize that convicted criminal Donald Trump is a liar, thief, grifter, fraudster, racist, sexual predator, and war criminal. This supermajority will win the midterm elections by blocking passage of Trump’s viciously racist, (and purposely misogynistic), “Save America Act”—a legislative obscenity designed to disenfranchise women and People of Color.
