The UAW lead by Shawn Fain are holding a rally in New York City calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. These protests are part of the UAW's larger strategy of class solidarity, as they call for this ceasefire and Free Palestine to prevent more war and bloodshed of the largely civilian population.
It’s good to see proper Socialist Internationalism expressed in class solidarity. There may be a chink of light at the end of a very dark tunnel, if actions like this by UAW, motivate and encourage people - particularly the younger generations - to engage in and learn about Class based analysis and politics, and realise that the culture wars and Idpol were and are designed and used to separate the working classes and have us at each other’s throats, distrustful of and hating our neighbours and fellow class members. ‘Divide and Rule’, as old as civilisation itself and used by elites as a way of control since the beginning.
