Status Coup producer Michelle Dao is LIVE from Michigan State University as progressive Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is holding a campaign rally in which popular progressive streamer Hasan Piker will be speaking (watch stream above).

El-Sayed, a physician and former health director for the city of Detroit, strongly advocates for Medicare For all—which his main two opponents for the Democratic Michigan Senate nomination, Rep. Hayley Stevens and Michigan state senator Mallory McMorrow, don’t.

El-Sayed has been under fire from mainstream media and many establishment Democrats for rallying with Piker—who they falsely claim is antisemitic due to his strong denouncements of Israel and its genocide of Palestinians. But El-Sayed has not taken the bait, focusing on his campaign and going forward with his rally with Piker.
