LIVE From Hurricane Helene REFUGEE CAMP in North Carolina
Jason Peters is LIVE with Jon Farina in North Carolina as Hurricane victims are kicked out into the cold
Jon Farina is LIVE with Jason Peters in North Carolina as they talk with residents who are displaced by the hurricane and into the cold winter conditions. These are people that are still without homes and more following Hurricane Helene and have still gotten minimal help since then.
I lost my house in 1989 with the Loma Prieta earthquake. I received a single check for $2,000 from FEMA and that was it. I blew through my savings quickly with nights at hotels and eating in restaurants.
I have never relied on others to support me, whether family members, friends, or a government agency. For me it was a point of pride but also a realization that no one really cared and it was up to me to do whatever was necessary to survive. It comes down to attitude and mental toughness.
What a great report.
Am 86 and on a pension but will try to join Status Coup next month. Your on the ground overage is stellar.
