LIVE From East Palestine: East Palestine Residents Test POSITIVE for Cancer-Causing Vinyl Chloride, CDC Resists Testing
4pm eastern: Louis DeAngelis speaks w/ Shelby Walker, an East Palestine resident who lived 900 feet from train derailment. Shelby & her husband tested + for elevated levels of Vinyl Chloride
Status Coup’s Louis DeAngelis will interview East Palestine resident Shelby Walker, whose urine tested positive for elevated levels of Vinyl Chloride—a highly toxic chemical known to increase the risks for a rare form of liver cancer as well as brain and lung cancers, lymphoma, and leukemia. Three months ago today, Norfolk Southern’s train derailed in East Palestine. Days later, five cars of Vinyl Chloride were “vented and burned”—i.e. exploded—over the small village of 4,500 residents. Shelby and her husband are both sick and their kids and grandkids are also suffering from symptoms.
