IRONY ALERT: Democrats Who Rigged 2020 for Biden Now Turn on Him

After Pres. Obama and establishment party leaders drove the remaining candidates out of the 2020 primary to stop Bernie Sanders, those same forces are now aggressively pushing Biden to drop out

It’s been a 24-hour establishment avalanche on top of Joe Biden as the full force of the Democratic Party machine turned the political knife deeper into Joe Biden.

• Rep. Adam Schiff—a longtime sycophant and ally of Nancy Pelosi—called on Biden to drop out of the race

• Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer leaked to the press he met with Biden and pushed him to drop out

• Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi leaked to the press she met with Biden and pushed him to drop out

• House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries leaked to the press he met with Biden and pushed him to drop out

• Former President Obama leaked to the press that he’s told allies Biden’s chances of winning have “greatly diminished.”

Ah the sweet, sweet irony of the Democratic Party’s rigging machine turning on one of its premiere patriarchs.

Of course, four years ago it was Obama who steered the massive Democratic vessel that, after Biden’s big South Carolina victory, quickly pushed Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar overboard in order to stop Bernie Sanders from winning the Democratic nomination. This shrunk the primary contest down to a 1-on-1 between Biden and Sanders two days before Super Tuesday—and the corporate media finished the job, providing Biden with 24/7 pep rally coverage in the 48 hours between South Carolina and Super Tuesday (all told, the corporate media gave Biden over $100 million dollars in free, positive coverage during these few days).

Four years later, how the tables have turned. After Obama and others jerry-rigged the process to push Biden over the finish line, Obama is now clearly leaking to the press that Biden is toast—screwing the final nail in Biden's political coffin.

I will cry no tears for Joe Biden. Neither should you. Contrary to the MSNBC and Democratic Party propaganda, he has been a disappointment who abandoned the few campaign promises he made ($15 minimum wage, public option, ending drilling on public lands, etc). But what is going on now—the corporate Democratic establishment breathing its collective fire down on Biden—goes to show you this party will throw anyone overboard who threatens its power and the stable flow of corporate money flowing in.

And make no mistake, Biden is threatening the Democratic machine’s power; of course, not in terms of challenging the corrupt corporate status quo or the donors., but instead, by being such a historically weak top of the ticket candidate, he could cause dozens of Democratic House members and governors to go down in defeat in November (not to mention Democrats losing the Senate).

For Nancy and Chuck, that’s just too much power to lose and corporate cash and power to cede to the Republican Party. If Democrats go down in a tidal wave of defeat, that’s far fewer Democratic politicians who will be able to legally commit insider trading by trading stocks based on private economy and industry information they obtain in their day jobs. If Democrats lose significant swaths of power, that’s hundreds of millions in lobbyist cash that goes to Republicans.

Biden is one stubborn corporatist; I still don’t think he’ll go quietly into the night. It might take another round or two of strategic media leaks of more Democrats, and big-name media figures, calling on him to drop before the faux working class champion finally surrenders.

But until that happens, I for one am enjoying the karmic irony of the Democratic Party turning the scorched earth ire of its rigged machine on its longtime corporatist Uncle Joe.
