ICE ATTACKED Us & Unarmed Protesters
We were LIVE for 4 hours as ICE chased and tased protesters on an active train track, shoved a protester into a moving ICE van, and pushed protesters into oncoming truck traffic. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
In over a decade of ON-THE-GROUND reporting, last night outside Delaney Hall ICE prison was one of the most violent, gruesome, and lawless encounters I’ve witnessed—and Status Coup was one of the ONLY NATIONAL MEDIA OUTLETS REPORTING LIVE as unarmed protesters were pepper sprayed, tased, and struck by ICE vehicles (our 5th day in a row covering an ICE prisoner hunger strike). We CAN’T keep covering these events ON-THE-GROUND without more financial support. PLEASE SUPPORT US for as low as $5 dollars a month

Last night, we were live for over four hours on day 5 of a massive ICE prison hunger and labor strike outside Delaney Hall ICE prison as approximately 50 ICE agents repeatedly:
Tased protesters—including one they chased onto train tracks.
Pepper sprayed and bear maced protesters.
Bum rushed protesters into the middle of the street with two-way oncoming traffic—mostly massive trucks—coming.
Shoved a female protester into an oncoming ICE van.
Attacked/detained a medic and U.S. veteran before dumping him on side of road.
Targeted journalists including our cameraman Jon Farina and I.
WATCH ICE SHOVE FEMALE PROTESTER INTO MOVING ICE VAN BELOW
All throughout, our videojournalist Farina and I did our best to capture the lawless violence while protecting our eyes, lungs, and bodies (we ourselves were almost struck by 18-wheel vehicles several times due to ICE agents pushing protesters and journalists back into the street as oncoming traffic came our way).
Why did ICE do this…were they provoked or attacked by protesters?
No.
I only saw protesters verbally shout at ICE agents—which is their constitutional right—and engage in civil disobedience by trying to block ICE transport vans from abducting ICE prisoners out of the prison to be moved to other ICE prisons (or lord knows here).
***TO BE CLEAR, WE WERE ONE OF THE ONLY NATIONAL MEDIA OUTLETS ON THE GROUND—WITH THE PEOPLE—LIVE FOR SEVERAL HOURS (we saw other journalists literally sitting in their cars as protesters were being attacked)***
WATCH BELOW ME CHALLENGE ICE AGENTS LAST NIGHT-LEAVING ONE SPEECHLESS
We have been reporting ON-THE-GROUND from Delaney Hall ICE prison since 2025—when we covered a protest on the same night several ICE prisoners escaped the prison. Most recently we reported ON-THE-GROUND—before the hunger and labor strike launched—covering horrific conditions inside described to us by loved ones of prisoners inside.
We’ve broken that ICE was serving prisoners worms in their foods, expired food, discolored green-colored sausage patties, black mold rampant inside the prison.
Threatened the wife of a prisoner with cutting off his visitation in retaliation for her organizing protests outside/getting media attention.
Retaliated against prisoners engaged in hunger strike, threatening them with solitary confinement and cutting off family visitation.
Tricked a prisoner into being moved out of Delaney Hall by having him sign a fake release form and then kidnapping him to a different ICE prison.
ICE agents came inside the prison and tried to convince prisoners to eat in order to end the hunger strike/stop it from spreading elsewhere
We will be back out there tonight on day 6 of the hunger & labor strike—as we expect ICE’s violence to escalate even further.
