"FU*K THE CHENEYS!" Loyal Democrat Goes Off on Kamala Harris Campaign
Jordan Chariton talked with a Harris supporter election night who had some choice words for Dems
On election night, Jordan Chariton covered an election watch party at a Philadelphia bar filled with supporters of VP Kamala Harris. In this interview, which happened as the results were still being reported and the winner was not yet known, Jordan interviewed Mike, a supporter of VP Harris, who strongly criticized her campaign as well as the Democratic Party.
It may already be much too late to save the nation and/or the planet, but I devoutly hope the Democrats have learned a few lessons. [I doubt they have, of course; they never do, but hope springs eternal...]
(1) The wrong candidate and a hopelessly inept campaign will NOT win elections: (a) Biden should have stepped down back in 2023. (b) Harris would NEVER have garnered the nomination in an open primary. (c) Whoever the Party nominated -- and his/her campaign team -- should surely have listened to what EVERYONE was saying: that (d) Rightly or wrongly, the Republicans were perceived as truly stronger on "inflation," and the attempt to explain how much it had gone down was falling on the deaf ears of people in shell-shock each time they went to the grocery store. [Of course, Big Food corporations were price-gouging and making obscene profits, but who was listening?] (e) The Republicans were also picking up millions of votes through their sharp words on immigration (translated: Islamophobia and xenophobia, seasoned with old-fashioned racism). Again, the Dems' campaign fell flat. Instead, they assumed the "women" would lead them to victory. [Hint: 52 to 53% of white women voted for Trump, down from his 53-54% four years earlier!]
(2) Neoconservatism and neoliberalism are BOTH toxic.
(3) As Bernie Sanders explained, the Dems MUST figure out how to reach their historical "core" constituency.
Now let us sit back, shrug our shoulders helplessly, and watch Trump destroy the planet's climate and the environment, create a true "two-state" solution in the USA (the wealthy and the impoverished), and stack the courts with more ideologues. Shameful!
