Democrats and Media COVERED UP Biden's Condition—We Shouldn't Normalize That

For 4 years, the Democratic Party, its media allies, & others lied to America about Pres. Biden's deteriorating condition...all to maintain the neoliberal status quo and block a progressive president

As the corporate media machine springs into overdrive to coronate Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee to replace President Biden—doubling down on the Democratic Party and the media’s quasi-cancellation of a real Democratic Primary—they want the clear truth to conveniently disappear.

And that truth is simple: dating back to Biden’s 2019 run for president, the D.C. dinosaur was clearly deteriorating cognitively and not the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump or serve as president.

From forgetting President Obama’s name, to confusing which office he was running for, to wrongly claiming he was Vice President during the COVID-19 pandemic, to publicly shouting out a Congresswoman who recently died in a car crash, Biden was clearly not committing “gaffes” or struggling with a “stutter”—Democrats' and the media’s preferred gaslighting technique—but instead suffering from some type of cognitive decline that no journalist can or should try to diagnose.

Yours truly and Status Coup never joined the band of elite media trying to sell you on the absurdity that Biden’s stumbles as a candidate in 2019 and 2020 were “gaffes.” Although I made clear I was not going to diagnose him as if I was a doctor, it was abundantly clear that Biden was not cognitively well and would further decline once in office.

And after his disastrous debate, we quickly learned that his crumbling cognitive state was an open secret in Washington D.C., internationally, and even among celebrities and donors.

• Wall Street Journal reported that Biden stood up the Chancellor of Germany for an early dinner in order to go to sleep.

• Carl Bernstein reported close aides to Biden’s witnessed 15-20 instances of severe cognitive decline over the last year.

• Rep. Seth Moulton, who grew close with Biden and had breakfasts together, wrote Biden forgot who he was during a June D-Day event.

• New York Magazine reported “longtime friends of the Biden family…were shocked to find that the president did not remember their names.”

• Celebrity George Clooney wrote a NY Times op-ed revealing Biden was a shell of himself at a major fundraiser he hosted. “He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.”

This is just SOME of the reports that have come out recently about Biden’s alarming cognitive disfunction that seemed to be evident to his family, his inner circle of close advisers, Democratic Party politicians, and so-called journalists.

Yet all of them were crickets…as he was held fewer interviews and press conferences than any president in modern American history; as he made the dumbfounding decision not to sit down for a Super Bowl interview in front of over 100 million viewers; as he provided a blank check for a horrific U.S-funded genocide on Gaza; as he was continuing to challenge a nuclear power by propping up the Russia-Ukraine war with endless U.S. weaponry; as he was continuing to shoot a super soaker at the raging climate inferno (sorry corporate tax credits for renewable is not going to save us); and on and on we go.

You’d have to be a truly brainwashed, pea-brained team blue sycophant to believe that Democratic politicians and members of the media were genuinely SHOCKED when they witnessed Biden’s cognitive hardware combust during the disastrous Democratic debate. But despite all of the red flags, all of the private chatter questioning Biden’s cognitive fitness—some of which I witnessed among top journalists at hotel bars as far back as the 2020 primary campaign—they all feigned ignorance after the debate.

Simply put: the Democratic Party and its media accomplices covered up that Biden was clearly compromised and incapable for YEARS…

Not to stop the disaster of a second Trump term in 2020—but to stop what they perceived as the unacceptable threat of a Sanders presidency to the status quo.

Of course, if Bernie Sanders or a progressive or any other economically populist candidate displayed EVEN ONE of the cognitive meltdowns Biden had exhibited in 2019 and 2020, these same political and media figures would have immediately called for him to drop out and even resign as a senator.

But with Biden, we were fed “gaffes” and a “stutter.”

This political and journalistic deceit should be accepted. It must not be forgotten. And it certainly should not be normalized.

After all, what happens if Donald Trump is reelected—thus firing back up like a rocket CNN and MSNBC’s abysmal ratings—but starts to display rapid cognitive or physical decline?

You think Rachel Maddow, or Joe Scarborough, or Anderson Cooper, or name-your-cocktail-crowd-beloved-New York Times columnist would rush to the cameras or print pages to point out his compromised cognitive state and demand he resign?

Ha!

Of course they wouldn’t; which leaves the potential of a maniac president—with a slipping mind—with his fingers on the nuclear button and command of the U.S. military and secret army of private contractors.

What could possibly go wrong?
