Biggest Government Coverup Since Flint? Please Read This WHOLE EMAIL
"Your life stops in a second...all I've ever wanted is to be a grandma, but am I going to be around?Somebody needs to start being honest" East Palestine resident Krissy Ferguson tells Status Coup
Hey folks it’s Jordan. In a moment, I am going to pretty much beg you to sign up TODAY as a Status Coup member for $5-10 bucks a month (I’m not big on sending fundraising emails every day but, frankly, I don’t have a choice).
But first I want to show you an infuriating, heartbreaking moment from Louis DeAngelis’ latest ON-THE-GROUND interview with East Palestine resident Krissy Ferguson (full interview below). The part I want you to watch starts at 2 minutes and 26 seconds into Louis’ great interview.
“Your life stops in a second, everything that you have planned and wanted, all I’ve ever wanted is to be a grandma, and I don’t want to rush my daughter to do that but am I going to be around to be a grandma?” an emotional Krissy Ferguson told Louis DeAngelis, who is now reporting for the third time in three months from East Palestine. Tragically, Ferguson—like many residents in East Palestine—is uncertain about her long term health prospects after her urine test recently came back with elevated levels of cancer-causing toxic chemical Vinyl Chloride.
As Status Coup exclusively broke, the CDC has shockingly been urging doctors and healthcare providers NOT TO TEST residents for Vinyl Chloride—even though Norfolk Southern “vented and burned” 5 train cars filled with the toxic chemical. So far, we’ve uncovered at least four residents who have tested positive for elevated levels of Vinyl Chloride. The OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of residents have NOT been tested.
Status Coup viewers know I’m not one to bullshit, so here it goes. RIGHT NOW, between Louis and I, we are investigating 3-4 major investigative stories (and when I say investigating, I mean developing confidential sources and whistleblowers as well as potential documents). I can’t give you the full details but here are some hints and bullet points.
Finding SERIOUS holes in Norfolk Southern’s story about its “controlled burn” in East Palestine
ANOTHER potential outbreak of TOXIC water in Flint that the EPA/CDC covered up
Following the $ on why MI Gov’s admin is allowing a poor Black neighborhood to be poisoned.
Frankly, based on what we are currently digging on, I believe the CLEAR government coverup in East Palestine is the biggest government coverup since Flint (which in my view, is the biggest government coverup of the 21st century). For each one of these stories, we would not have been tipped off on the information we are now investigating unless we had gone ON-THE-GROUND in East Palestine, Flint, and Kalamazoo.
It is also very likely that for at least one of these stories, Louis and/or Jordan are going to have to GO BACK to these cities to meet with sources. As you know, we have no financial sugar daddies or mommies. We take ZERO corporate money or $ from shadow oligarchs. But I’m not going to bullshit you: the cupboard is getting bare. Right now we’re stagnant in terms of paid member sign ups. This is a problem since in the last few months, we have spent over $10,000 on reporting trips to East Palestine, Flint, Kalamazoo, Atlanta, as well as paying freelancers for work in NYC and elsewhere. We also have a big expense coming up as we are trying to purchase ANOTHER LIVEU (our broadcasting unit that allows us to go live on the road).
If you are currently reading this, and not signed up as a Status Coup member, I am not beyond begging you to sign up at $5-10 bucks a month. $5 dollars a month is 16 cents a day. $10 a month is 33 cents a day. If you really think about some of what you spend $5-10 a month on—or maybe even per day—you would likely find something you don’t necessarily NEED that you value less than Status Coup’s ON-THE-GROUND reporting.
So here’s the pitch. Can you sign up as a member TODAY? If we can grow another 100+ paid members this month, we will be in GREAT shape to continue reporting on these stories ON-THE-GROUND, keep paying Louis—who is a DAMN GOOD and fearless reporter—and afford the new equipment we badly need.
If you’re already a member, we also very much appreciate and need DONATIONS to help cover these reporting trips.
Remember most people in this country are not lacking compassion—most people have no fu*king idea what the hell is going on all around them.
